On retiring from pharmacy at the age of 60, I met Estelle at the hairdressers and we got chatting. She told me that she gave Art Lessons. Never in my life had I ever considered taking up art. HOWEVER, a still small voice from above said to me, "DO IT!" To cut a long story short, this has been the most wonderful experience. After 6 years under her tutelage, I had to go it on my own as she left the area. I have taken many workshops and courses and even had a week in Spain under Fabio Cembranelli. A marvelous experience. I also teach a bit and learn from my students. Exhibitions - yes, as many as I can. A couple of solo exhibitions and many 'Art in the Park" sessions. Interesting and educational! One learns to develop a thick skin. I consider this a gift that I have been given late in my life, and without the support and interest of my husband Rob, I would never have got this far. I am inspired and grateful. If you would click on my website: www.lizmcqueensart.com, you will see some of my work. Thank you for reading this.
