Water, the life blood of all living things.
Cooling, refreshing, such happiness brings,
Tumbling over the rocks sparkling drops in the sun,
Catching a rainbow, it's oh so much fun.
Hot days we paddle and cause such a splash,
When we slip on a rock and come down with a crash,
We can't do without it, we need it for life,
And when there's shortage it causes such strife,
So use sparingly and treasure each sparkling drop,
Because when there is no more our living will stop.
We know that Poppies grew on Flander's field,
A fact never to be forgotten 'tis said,
For many brave men lost their lives there
I believe that's why the Poppies are red.
As I was walking down the stair
I met a man who wasn't there
He wasn't there again today,
I wish that man would go away.
(Ogden Nash)
This abstract embodies that verse. Upstairs, downstairs or in my lady's chamber. Who knows?
