A SHELL FOR SAM
Illustrations by Vesna Borcic
Here is an easy-to-read factual story about Sam, the hermit crab, and his adventures while trying to find a suitable shell to grow up in. Hermit crabs do not grow on their own, but must have an empty shell to grow to maturity.
This illustrated book was published by Golden Gate Junior Books around the '60s. It was written by Jane Castellanos and illustrated by my grandmother, Vesna Borcic.
I don't have the printed book, but I found my grandmother's original sketches and I have tried to reconstruct the story. I hope you enjoy it!
